It’s impossible to put a price on how much we really owe our mothers. They comfort and worry and fuss over us every day of the year. Mother’s Day is a time to appreciate and be thankful for that unconditional love that only our moms can express.

For this reason Taj Cape Town has created two special menus to delight our moms this year.

Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea:

The Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea in the glamourous lobby promises to be a decadent affair. Taking place between 14h00 – 17h00 on Sunday 11th May; the cost of R195 per person includes a table laden with delicate lemon scented petit fours, decadent chocolate cakes, flavourful assortment of Macaroons and gourmet canapés, while a concert pianist will gently serenade Mom’s stresses away. One lucky mom stands to win a gourmet picnic for four, on the lush grounds of the Warwick Wine Estate, as well as a Magnum bottle of Warwick 1st Lady, signed by the wine maker.

Mother’s Day Brunch in Mint, the Local Grill:

Taj Cape Town’s award winning restaurant – Mint, the Local Grill – will lay a delectable spread for the Mother’s Day Buffet taking place between 12h00 and 15h00 on Sunday at a cost of R345 per person, and R175 for children under 12. To the accompaniment of live Jazz music, and a wide variety of local and international fare, such as coconut and laksa soup, Lamb ‘Osso Bucco’ with creamy polenta or grilled Line fish served with fresh sage, that is sure to find appeal with every palate. Mom is guaranteed to be spoilt with impeccable levels of service and memories to treasure.

Mom in a Million Package:

The Mom in a Million package includes two first class airfare tickets from anywhere in the world as well as Taj Cape Town’s chauffeur driven Jaguar, or Range Rover, will be on hand throughout. Mom’s comfort and serenity is guaranteed during her two nights stay in Taj’s Cape Town’s regal Presidential Suite.

On the Friday afternoon, Mom can expect a personal consultation from the designers of leading fashion brand, Kluk CGDT, a hair treatment of her choice from Cape Town’s most celebrated hair stylists at Palladium and a gourmet spread fit for royalty, accompanied by a wine list incorporating some of the world’s finest wines.

Saturday sees Mom being whisked away to sit with South Africa’s leading jeweller, Graaf Diamonds, as well as an appointment with Frazer Parfum, purveyor of custom made scents. Saturday afternoon sees the family take to the air in a private helicopter charter from Cape Town to the spectacular winelands for a gourmet lunch. After taking in the dramatic scenery and indulging in fine food and wine, the helicopter will ferry the family back to Taj Cape Town, where Mom will be spoilt with a private spa treatment in the Presidential Suite.

The Mom in a Million experience culminates with a Sunday lunch that promises never to be forgotten. A party of up to eight guests will be hosted in the Taj Cape Town’s stunning Presidential Suite, while a private chef and butler will be on hand to ensure Mom doesn’t have to lift a finger as she enjoys a culinary tour de force in the company of her family and friends.

One of Cape Town’s top photographers will be on hand during proceedings to capture moments that Mom will treasure forever.

The Taj Cape Town offers luxury accommodation in Cape Town and invites all to treat their mums to a delectable Mother’s Day Buffet at Mint, the Local Grill or a glamorously decadent Afternoon Tea in the Lobby Lounge.
