Get Your Art on at the Cape Town Art Fair

Those familiar with Taj Cape Town will know that we have a new found love for art. It is a discipline that informs and reflects culture, current affairs, design and society’s love affair with all the little pleasures in life. If you too enjoy art, you will want to take a stroll through the Cape Town Art Fair during Cape Town Art Week. Between the 17th and the 19th of February, the Cape Town International Convention Centre will host local and international exhibitors, drawing attention to Cape Town’s thriving and inspiring art scene.

What to Expect at the Cape Town Art Fair

Between the hours of 11 am and 7 pm the Cape Town Art Fair is a whirlwind of talks, walkabouts, screenings, book signings and guest curators. Tickets range between R50 for children under 12 and R140 for adults. Pensioners and students only pay R100. The public gets free parking at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, while taxis and Uber gets a nifty little drop off lane. Visitors can buy food and drinks from vendors inside the CTICC, cash and cards will be accepted.

A Shared Love

‘The Gallery’ at Taj Cape Town plays host to monthly exhibitions of mixed art forms and you can keep an eye these by following us on Facebook and Twitter. Taj Cape Town is a supporter of both the local art scene and the immense talent which drives it. The Gallery, situated on the ground floor of Taj, is made up of two adjacent rooms, in which artwork is displayed and is available for purchase over the month of its display. One of these rooms is also used as a wine tasting room, where you can both taste and buy wine at cellar door prices.

In addition to its love of art and culture, Taj Cape Town is so conveniently located that it really is a short hop, skip and jump from the hub of art galleries which fill the city centre. Only a ten-minute drive from the Cape Town International Convention Centre, Taj offers guests new heights of luxury, ensuring an even more relaxing stay than you may have previously expected.
