Get Ready for the 18th Cape Town Jazz Festival
With a reputation the world over as one of the best live Jazz gatherings, the 18th International Cape Town Jazz Festival is just around the corner. Over the weekend of the 31st of March and 1st of April, 39 magnificent musical acts will raise the roof on the Cape Town music scene. From the comfort of the Cape Town International Convention Centre, or amidst the atmosphere of Greenmarket Square, Mother City music fans will blissfully continue the annual tradition of cheering some of the best musicians from around the world.

At the Cape Town International Convention Centre you can expect to see top-class acts like veterans Pops Mohamed, Mango Groove, Judith Sephuma, Soweto String Quartet, The Rudimentals, Digable Planets and edgy newcomers, The Internet and Laura Mvula among many others.

Weekend pass and early bird tickets are already sold out, so it’s best you book your day pass now if you don’t want to miss out. A day pass will set you back just R690 and the Rosies Stage Tickets are available for R30 per show.
Getting to the Cape Town Jazz Festival on Time
On Friday the 31st of March, the doors to the Cape Town International Convention Centre will open at 6 pm, with the first show starting at 6:45 pm. On Saturday the doors will open at 4 pm and the shows will start at 5 pm.
The Free Community Concert
Leading up to the Cape Town Jazz Festival weekend, Greenmarket Square will host a free concert on Wednesday the 29th of March at 5 pm. Enjoy performances by the likes of En Vogue, Mango Groove, Moreira Chonguica, Young Legend VuDu, Danielle Jacobs and the All Star Band. Don’t forget that parking around the Green Market Square is limited so you might want to consider using public transport.
Cape Town Jazz Festival Workshops
More than hosting an epic music festival, the Cape Town Jazz Festival is also committed to the development of the music industry. From the 25th of March, music and career workshops will be hosted on topics such as music business, arts journalism, music technology workshop, photojournalism, just to name a few.
Cape Town Jazz Festival goers would do well to rest between shows and workshops at the luxurious Taj Cape Town as it is a short five-minute walk from Greenmarket Square and a quick nine-minute drive from the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
