Christmas is a time for giving and this year, Taj Cape Town and Guests will once again be accumulating gifts for the Amy Biehl Foundation.
The Amy Biehl Stationery Drive at Taj Cape Town was a great success last festive season and it is with great pride that we will once more be collecting stationery from guests, staff and the public which will be donated to school starters aged 5-8.
For those discovering this wonderful organization for the first time, the Amy Biehl Foundation has empowered 5-18 year old youth in the impoverished townships of Cape Town for over 20 years. Reaching over 1,500 youngsters every day, the foundation works tirelessly to give hope and a brighter future with healthy alternatives to the negative influences of poverty, substance abuse, gangsterism, violence and crime.
These educational and cultural activities have afforded many students the opportunity to unlock their creative talent and take their first steps towards becoming future leaders and entrepreneurs for South Africa. To this end any stationery and educational items such as colouring books, flash cards, crayons, colour pencils, chair bags, dictionaries, calculators, branded corporate stationery etc., which we can collect over the holiday season will go a long way to improving many lives in the new year to come.
To all who wish to contribute to the stationery drive for the Amy Biehl Foundation, we have a dedicated box in the Lobby Lounge to fill with stationery. A selection of stationery items will also be available for purchase at the Hotel Kiosk.
In the spirit of giving to receive, the Amy Biehl Foundation is offering an array of spectacular prizes to be won via a raffle and a grand prize worth over R70 000 that promises to be a once in a lifetime experience.
The grand prize winner and their partner will be chauffeur driven from the airport or train station in either a Jaguar or Range Rover to Taj Cape Town for a two night stay in a luxurious one bedroom suite.
The following day they are invited to go on the popular ‘Footsteps to Freedom’, a Guided City Walking Tour around Cape Town where they will visit historic Cape Town sites such as, the Grand Parade, City Hall, Castle of Good Hope and the Company’s Garden, while tracing the history of South Africa and footsteps of Mandela on his remarkable journey to freedom.
But the grand prize does not stop there; the lucky couple will be spoiled with an all-inclusive trip on the world-renowned The Blue Train from Cape Town to Pretoria. Replete with five star accommodation, fine cuisine, personalised butler service and a route that offers breath-taking views of the South African countryside, The Blue Train is considered as one of the world’s most luxurious rail experiences.
On arrival in Pretoria, the winning couple will receive a one night’s stay in the exclusive Saxon Hotel, Villas and Spa in Sandton, Johannesburg. Voted as the World’s leading Boutique Hotel for the last six consecutive years, the Saxon Hotel is widely-regarded as the epitome of luxury and impeccable service.
Tying a neat bow on this once in a lifetime prize, the winners will also receive a one night all inclusive stay at Shambala Zulu Camp, in the picturesque Waterberg Mountains where they will be able experience the magic of the African bushveld while keeping an eye open and camera ready for the resident Big Five.
The trip can be reversed from Pretoria to Cape Town, however flights and other expenses not stated are not included with the prize. Raffle tickets are priced at R100 each and are available in the Hotel’s Lobby Lounge or email email@example.com. The competition runs from December 2014 until 31 March 2015 and the winner of the grand prize will need to claim and use the prize before 31 August 2015.
