CITY WALK SATURDAY’S
Cape Town inner city has become part of the Big 7, joining the top tourist attractions such as, Cape Point, Robben Island, Groot Constantia, Table Mountain, Kirstenbosch and the V&A Waterfront. The Big 7 City Walk connects the city by bringing the public spaces to life, and offering organised walking tours.
The monthly City Walk Saturdays event is scheduled to continue every third Saturday of the month from 10h00 – 14h00, right through winter, and will take place next, on the 20 June. It is an opportunity for community and creative projects to use the public space of the inner city to showcase their work, using their collective presence to draw citizens into the city, in turn allowing Capetonians to reimagine what our urban environment can be.

Whale Watching (June – November)
Whale season starts in June and continues until November, head to Hermanus to watch these majestic creatures frolic in the coves of Walker Bay, it makes for an easy day trip or an ideal weekend getaway. Wedged between the mountains and sea, Hermanus is a bustling little fishing village and a prime land-based whale watching destination. Aside from granting awestruck visitors countless opportunities to watch the mammoth mammals, the town also has a host of restaurants, art galleries, shops and a very popular Saturday craft market. Wacky Wine Weekend (4 – 7 June)
Get ready for a wild and way out wine experience at the Robertson Valley Wacky Wine Weekend. Soup, Sip and Bread Winter Feast (6 – 7 June)

Twelve of the region’s wine farms invite locals to spend the weekend indulging in hearty broths, chowders and freshly baked artisan breads while soaking up live entertainment at this annual event. Taste the Helderberg Wine Show (12 June)
Sample fine wine and fare at the Taste the Helderberg food and wine show at the NH Lord Charles Hotel in Somerset West. The one-night wine and dine event promises to showcase the Stellenbosch sub-region’s finest vintages and gourmet cuisine as well as give patrons the rare opportunity to chat to the winemakers of the Helderberg area. Napier Patatfees (13 – 16 June)
The annual patatfees (Farm Festival) brings the sleepy Overberg town of Napier to life for a weekend of fun and action-filled activities for both young and old to enjoy. Though the main highlights include an adventurous mountain bike challenge and a 21-km half marathon, festival attendees can also enjoy the local restaurants. Gordon’s Bay Winter Wonderland Festival (22 June – 22 July)
Experience the quiet seaside town of Gordon’s Bay in a new light when its annual Winter Wonderland festival descends on the village. In honour of the colder season the businesses, restaurants and pubs in the area present a month-long schedule filled with warming fare and special events, like live music gigs, weekend markets and more.
